Green Spot Technologies Wins the Kraft Heinz Innovation Challenge

Green Spot Technologies Wins the Kraft Heinz Innovation Challenge

San Francisco, March 16, 2023

The Kraft Heinz Company has crowned the winner of its Innovation Challenge live on stage at this year’s Future Food-Tech San Francisco. 176 food-tech start-ups around the world answered the call for innovative solutions to "Unleash the Power of Tomatoes from Seed to Shelf,” resulting in three finalists Anina, Kuvu Bio Solutions and the winner: Green Spot Technologies.

The French start-up has developed a fermentation platform that allows the production of the first range of fermented & upcycled flours, made from side streams/ by-products of fruits, cereals, and vegetables. The flours offer nutritional improvement and fiber enrichment, with simple ingredients for cleaner labelling, and reduced carbon footprint. Green Spot Technologies now unlocks fantastic growth opportunities, including coaching and expertise from Kraft Heinz North America and access to Kraft Heinz facilities for on-site support.

“At Kraft Heinz, we are transforming to improve our business and to help nourish our communities and planet,” said Robert Scott, President of Research & Development, North America, at Kraft Heinz. “It’s all part of our ambition to lead the future of food. We’re on a mission to disrupt not just our own business, but the global food industry. With that spirit, we congratulate Green Spot Technologies on winning the Tomato Innovation Challenge. We are honored and excited to be a part of your journey.”

Reacting to her win, Ninna Granucci, CEO of Green Spot Technologies said: "Green Spot Technologies couldn’t be happier with this new validation from such an international and renowned company as Kraft Heinz. This award gives us the amazing opportunity to benefit from their support and resources to scale our impact. And it comes at a perfect time as we are starting the roadshow for our Series A. Exciting times for Green Spot!" The three finalists pitched live on stage in San Francisco to Future Food-Tech’s global summit audience of over 1,600 food brands, corporates and investors.

Commenting on the partnership, Rachel Mackie at Future Food-Tech organizer Rethink Events said: “It’s been such a pleasure to see the response from the start-up community across the value chain to this fantastic opportunity offered by Kraft Heinz; and for our summit goals to align so closely with theirs. We are excited to follow all three finalists in the years to come.” To learn more about the Kraft Heinz Innovation Challenge at Future Food-Tech and all three of the finalists, visit www.futurefoodtechsf.com/innovation-challenge.
