Ali Morrow
Ali Morrow is a Partner at Clay Capital, a venture capital firm focused on food and agriculture investments across Europe and Asia, covering the value chain 'from soil to gut.'
Ali's background spans strategy consulting across food, agriculture, biotech, healthcare and technology sectors – working with organizations from startups to multinationals including Microsoft, Nestle, the Canadian Stem Cell Foundation, and others – and investigative journalism covering climate and food systems. She moved to the investor side as part of the founding team at Astanor Ventures as Principal before joining Clay Capital in 2023.
Ali focuses on early-stage investments in companies solving fundamental challenges in food and agriculture systems. She looks for technologies that solve real problems at economics that work—whether simple fermentation or advanced biotech—and evaluates opportunities across global markets.
Ali serves on the boards of MiAlgae (omega-3 from whisky byproducts replacing fish oil), Symplicity (fermented vegetables making plant protein delicious and healthy), and Scindo (AI-designed enzymes making bio-based ingredients cost-competitive without petrochemicals). She works with founders early in their journey to build companies that address resilience, nutrition, and supply chain challenges in food systems.
Ali is a KauQman Fellow and actively involved in the startup ecosystem in Europe, serving as an advisor to Copenhagen and Amsterdam-based accelerator and fund, RockStart, and the Bioinnovation Institute.
