Kyle Borkovec
Kyle Borkovec is the CTO of SternMaid Ingredients, where he oversees product development, application innovation, and technical strategy across North America. Prior to joining SternMaid, Kyle spent more than a decade at global protein manufacturer OSI Group, working across bacon, hot dogs, meatballs, and deli meats, and contributing to the commercialization of early alternative protein products, including the Impossible Burger and Meatballs.
With a foundation in large-scale protein manufacturing and product commercialization, Kyle now focuses on advancing ingredient-driven solutions for modern protein applications. He brings deep expertise in protein functionality, enzyme-enabled texturization, and clean label formulation, with work spanning the full value chain—from grower-connected protein sourcing and gentle isolation techniques to functional systems that deliver structure and texture without methylcellulose. He regularly collaborates across global R&D and marketing teams to translate ingredient science into scalable, consumer-ready solutions.
