Soumi Ray is a Senior Manager in Global Applications at Ingredion, where she leads the Savory category across sauces and dressings, ready meals, batters and breading, and meat and alternative-meat applications. She drives category strategy and oversees technical solution development globally, partnering closely with cross-functional teams and customers to advance next-generation texture and health-focused innovations. A recognized category expert, Soumi plays a key role in shaping Ingredion’s global innovation agenda. She is deeply involved in Open Innovation initiatives, championing impact-based decision making and data-driven scientific exploration to accelerate commercialization pathways. Before joining Ingredion, Soumi spent 13 years in the CPG industry in R&D roles spanning innovation, product development, and technical scouting. She holds a Master’s degree in Food Science from Rutgers University and serves on the Association of Dressings and Sauces (ADS) Executive Technical Board. Beyond her technical leadership, Soumi is committed to talent development and mentorship. She is an industry mentor through the American Corporate Partners program, supporting veterans transitioning into corporate careers.
